I started with computing as an adjunct to mathematics at
Princeton (BA ’64) and Columbia (MA ’66), continued intermittently
with independent study and a couple of courses. I have spent time
with APL, BASIC, C, C++, Smalltalk, assembler, Windows, Linux
(incl. X-Windows API), Forth, various software for text, html,
music, graphics.
Recently I was debugging a small Linux application to turn pixel
data into tone clusters - uses C and IForth, feeds into JACK
audio.
